To be eligible for Smart and Skilled subsidised training, you must be employed in the trade applicable to the course you intend to enrol in; AND:
- Live or work in NSW or a live in a defined interstate NSW Border area and be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and
- Be an Australian citizen, or a permanent Australian resident, or a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen; and
- Aged 15 years or older; and
- No longer in secondary education; and
- Do not hold a post-school qualification at Certificate IV level or higher

Prospective participants may apply for Smart and Skilled funding by completing the CWBTS NSW Smart and Skilled application and consent form. CWBTS is required to collect and use information for the purposes of reporting to the NSW Government and managing the administration of the training. The consent to use this information and details of how private information will be used are also contained in the form. The privacy policy is available on this website.
Participants will need to provide evidence of their eligibility for the program, including a copy of their birth certificate, passport, Green Medicare card or Visa. Evidence needs to accompany the Application and Consent form so that CWBTS can assess the participant’s eligibility.
Your application will be reviewed by a CWBTS Student enrolment officer who will discuss your needs and issue a Course Services Agreement and Participant Handbook. with full details about the training, services and supports available to you, your rights and responsibilities, the RTO responsibilities, details about RPL, Credit Transfer, deferring or discontinuing training, consumer protection information, and policies for privacy, complaints, refunds.
