About the CPC20211 – Certificate II in Construction Pathways
This qualification covers the basic skills and knowledge required to work in a primary trade within the construction industry.
After successfully completing this course you will have the essential skills needed to enter a full apprenticeship in your chosen field of construction, including carpentry, joinery and shopfitting or wall and floor tiling.
It will give you a chance to sample a variety of trade skills and help you find your career path in a highly employable sector.
You’ll learn the best work health and safety practices, how to correctly use tools, and learn about the materials you will be working with.
You will understand the job, and what is required of you and be able to effectively communicate with your work-mates.
This qualification prepares you with the essential skills needed to enter a full apprenticeship in your chosen field of construction, including carpentry, joinery and shopfitting or wall and floor tiling.
The core units will meet the requirements and provide credits in most Certificate III qualifications – apprenticeship courses – in building and construction trades.
There are no educational entry requirements for this qualification, however:
• Participants must be 16 years old or over
• Be competent in written and spoken English. All prospective students will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation prior to commencing the training.
This course has a duration of 13 weeks, with classes running 3 days per week 8:30am – 4:00pm.
The course is delivered in specially designed facilities where an emphasis is placed on providing hands on, practical training wherever possible.
