Brooke Moses came to Australia from New Zealand when his best mate, Nick Fromhold, called him up with a job offer.

“I asked what the rate was and he told me the rate,” Brooke says. When he found out what he could earn in Australia, he pretty much packed his bags up straight away.

Brooke came from New Zealand on the promise of a better rate and the next step in his career. After being in Melbourne for a while, Nick convinced Brooke to enrol in a Certificate IV in Building and Construction with him.

Even though Brooke didn’t love the idea of going back to school, he knew it was time for him to take the next step in his career towards becoming a registered builder.

Ofer Bar is a landscaper who wants to eventually grow a business so that he can provide the best life possible for his family.

“I’ve always tried and always wanted to do more. I always try to reach the limit of what I can do, and I think being here and studying is the best way to do it.”

When Ofer looked around and saw his friends grow their businesses by taking on bigger jobs, he knew that it was time for him to become a registered builder. For Ofer, this meant going back to study, which he wasn’t excited about.

“I was worried I would be bored, and it would be too heavy, but it’s actually amazing.”

You would be hard-pressed to find one of Bosko’s students who doesn’t love his class. Learning codes and regulations can be tedious, but not with Bosko, who uses humour and stories from the worksite to create an interactive classroom environment at Builders Academy Australia.
“I can teach you how to use a computer, just as well as you can swing a hammer,” Bosko says, his promise to even the most old-school tradies.
