The overriding objective of Builders Academy students undertaking the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) and/or the CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is to work towards becoming a registered builder with the state authorities.
Preparing the application for Builder Registration is a very complicated and thorough process, requiring substantial attention to detail. The Victorian Building Authority requires Builder Registration applicants to have a large amount of skills, knowledge and experience to apply for registration as a building practitioner. This involves completing complex documents that require a lot of attention to detail.
As an extra benefit to our Victorian* students, we are now assisting them with this process. This is the main reason why we developed the Builders Academy Domestic Builder Registration Training and Mentoring Program.
*Currently we are only offering mentoring to Victorian students however we endeavor to offer this service to people of all states as soon as possible. The reason for this is the the registration and licensing requirements are very different from state to state and at this stage we have only covered Victorian requirements.
Builders Academy Australia students (Victoria only) who wish to complete the program can look forward to attending a seminar, having a face-to-face review of their application and follow-up phone or email guidance available to them through the assessment process with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
On attendance of the seminar which will be conducted over 3-4 hours the participants will receive:
Following the delivery of the seminar, participants will be expected to begin to put together their application for registration. During this time participants will have the ability to email or call the facilitator to ask questions and get guidance on completing the application forms and applications as well as the evidence that will be required.
Once the student has completed their application they will be provided the opportunity to make an appointment with the facilitator to sit down (face to face) and go through the completed application.
The facilitator will provide feedback, check the application for completeness and discuss any other relevant topics. The student will then submit their own application directly to the VBA.
Once submitted, the student is able to contact the facilitator (via email or phone) during the course of their assessments (exam and interview) for guidance such as exam and interview preparation, techniques and topics that they are expected to demonstrate ability in.
There is no cost to any participant as long as they are a current BAA student in either the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) and/or the CPC50210 Diploma of Building & Construction (Building).
